MBTI

MBTI- Indoor Team Building Activities

In the MBTI Workshop, participants take an online MBTI assessment prior to the event to discover their personality type out of 16 possibilities. The in-person session explores personality similarities, provides a detailed breakdown of each type, and fosters revealing discussions about how different personalities react to various situations, ultimately enhancing team cohesion and mutual understanding.

MBTI — Myers-Briggs Type Indicator

Understanding how your team thinks is the most underleveraged driver of performance.

Most teams invest heavily in what they know and how they work. Very few stop to examine how each person in the room takes in information, makes decisions, and responds under pressure. MBTI gives your team a shared language for that conversation — and a practical framework for using cognitive diversity as a performance lever.

THE KORELATE APPROACH

We don’t deliver MBTI. We make it work.

Most MBTI sessions follow the same pattern: take the assessment, receive the report, hear a presentation about the 16 types, go home. The insight is real. The change is minimal. At Korelate, we design every session around a different principle — experience first, label second. Participants feel their preferences before they name them. The tool arrives as recognition, not introduction.

Experiential before ExplanatoryTeam-Level DiagnosticProfession-Relevant Scenarios
Every preference is felt physically before it is explained. The signature activity, the physical room movement, the live scenarios — all designed so the concept lands in the body before it lands in the mind.We map the team's full cognitive profile and name the collective strengths, blind spots, and decision-making patterns specific to your team — not generic MBTI theory.Every exercise uses real situations from your professional context. Participants don't practise MBTI — they use it to solve problems they actually face.

HOW WE MAKE IT EXPERIENTIAL

Four signature activities that bring MBTI to life

01

The Signature Activity

Participants write their name with their dominant hand — effortless, natural. Then with the other. The gap in effort, precision, and feel is the physical experience of what ‘preference’ actually means. Anchors the entire session.

02

The Preference Islands

The room is divided into four physical zones — one per preference pair. Participants move through each island,
self-selecting a side before reading the description. Experience before explanation, every time.

03

The Instinct Tape Activity

A tape line divides the room. Eight real-work scenarios, two instinctive responses each. Participants physically move to
their answer — no middle ground. The room’s cognitive portfolio becomes visible in real time.

04

Homogeneous & Heterogeneous Scenarios

Round 1: work in groups of similar types. Round 2: work in maximally diverse groups. The same scenario. Two
completely different conversations. The contrast is the most powerful learning moment of the day.

ON THE CREDIBILITY OF THE TOOL

MBTI has been in continuous use for over 60 years and has accumulated one of the largest bodies of organisational application research of any psychometric instrument. It is used by 88% of Fortune 500 companies, administered in 26 languages across 115 countries, and the subject of over 10,000 published research papers. Like any instrument, it has its critics — particularly on test-retest reliability and predictive validity. At Korelate, we hold this honestly: MBTI is not a clinical diagnostic. It is a shared language. Its value is not in the precision of the type label — it is in the conversation it creates about how differently people approach the same problem. That conversation, structured and facilitated well, changes how teams work together. We have seen this consistently — across industries, levels of seniority, and team sizes. The tool is the starting point. What we do with it is the point.

Experience the activity

The MBTI Workshop is a comprehensive team-building activity designed to enhance understanding and collaboration within groups by exploring personality types. Prior to the workshop, participants complete an online MBTI assessment that categorizes them into one of 16 distinct personality types based on their preferences and behavior. During the in-person session, experts start by briefing the group on the key similarities and differences among the personality types.

Participants then engage in a step-by-step process to uncover their own personality type, followed by an in-depth exploration of how different types interact and respond to various situations. The workshop delves into how personality traits influence behavior and communication, fostering insightful discussions and revelations. This understanding helps teams appreciate diverse perspectives and improve interpersonal dynamics, leading to stronger connections and enhanced teamwork. The activity is designed to create a supportive environment where team members gain valuable insights into themselves and each other, ultimately strengthening group cohesion.

Learning Outcomes

The MBTI Workshop offers valuable learning outcomes that enhance team dynamics and individual growth. Participants gain self-awareness by identifying their own personality type and understanding how it influences their behavior and interactions. Learning about the diverse personalities within the team fosters a deeper understanding of each other’s strengths and preferences, leading to more effective collaboration and improved interpersonal communication. By recognizing the unique traits of each team member, participants can develop strategies for better conflict resolution and enhance their ability to work together seamlessly. Additionally, the workshop provides insights that aid in decision-making, team development, and managing change, empowering leaders and team members to navigate challenges with greater ease and unity.
